OUR LOCATION

Our Beach house is located in the upscale beach location on the north shore of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, about 30 minutes north of Merida and 16km west of Progreso. This is not a commercial or touristy area. Uaymitun contains upscale homes. Many are only occupied during July and August. For restaurants and stores, go down the lightly traveled road to Chixulub or Progreso. We recommend that you rent a car for your stay, but there is public transportation that comes by. The roads from Merida to Uaymitun are among the best in Mexico. The route is well-lighted at night (except the last few kilometers.). Merida is about a 45 minute drive away. There are many Mayan Ruins in the vicinity. Our home is not far from the famous Flamingo observation tower...but actually there is a 2nd floor balcony on the rear of our home that can serve as your own "observation tower". Of course, the house is right on the beach, so you also have a great view of the Gulf of Mexico from the covered balcony on the beach-side of the house on the 2nd floor and from the ground-level patio and terrace:

Uaymitun is located on the north shore of the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. It is not commercialized like Cancun. Merida is the closest major city. Closest towns are Chixulub and Progreso.
